At Covenant Home for Children, we cherish our annual tradition of providing essential school supplies to those in need. Each year, we collect generous donations from local merchants and vendors, while also contributing our own resources. This collective effort allows us to fill a large barrel with everything our youth will require for a successful new semester.

In 2024, we proudly sent another barrel brimming with a variety of school supplies, cozy hoodies, and other important educational items to support our beloved children in Guyana. However, it's important to remember that our ability to continue this vital support relies solely on the generosity of kind-hearted donors like you. Your contributions make a meaningful difference in the lives of these young learners, ensuring they have the tools they need to thrive.

In the summer of 2018, Covenant Home for Children, in collaboration with the Guyana Golden Lives – Children of Bereavement foundation, reached out to two bereaved boys and their family during a difficult time. We provided school supplies, uniforms, shoes, and financial support to help them through their loss. Today, those boys are now teenagers and are flourishing, a testament to the resilience of children when given love and support. Your generous donations make a profound difference in the lives of children who have tragically lost their parents. Even a small gift from you can create a ripple of hope and healing, helping us continue to offer the vital support system these young hearts desperately need. Together, we can help them build a brighter future.

BACKGROUND:  These two young boys are Jahiem and Ronnel, whose mother, Mikeisha Beckles, passed away on September 24, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. Following her death, they were taken in by their grandmother, Doreen, who tragically lost her husband just three months later in an accident.

As the sole caretaker, Doreen faces immense challenges while raising her grandsons. Covenant Home for Children is committed to providing monthly support of $100 (USD) to help cover their needs. However, your generous donation can further ensure that Jahiem and Ronnel can attend school and receive essential supplies, food, and the nurturing they need during this difficult time. Together, we can help them build a brighter future despite their heartbreaking loss.

Covenant Home for Children proudly supports youth athletics by providing uniforms and equipment for both boys' and girls' sports teams. In the past, we have donated jerseys, soccer balls, and athletic socks, and we also aim to donate high-quality soccer cleats.

As a sponsor of the Tiger Bay Youth Soccer Club, we encourage like-minded football fans to join us in supporting our cause as we strive to motivate our youth both in the classroom and on the field.
